Samantha Warner, Psy.D.
Samantha (Sam) Warner (she/her) is a pre-licensed Counseling Psychologist based in the
Philadelphia area. While she has worked with many individuals throughout the lifespan, her
primary focus has been working with adults along the wide expanse of neurodivergence. This would include dual diagnosed adults (those with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or an Intellectual Developmental Disorder diagnosis in addition to a mental health diagnosis) as well as those adults who were not diagnosed as neurodivergent until later in life. Sam has also spent several years volunteering and working with members of the LQBTQIA+ community as a therapist, advocate, and ally.
When navigating coping skills around anxiety, depression, or stress, Sam will often use several different tools in an ever-growing toolbox. These may include reviewing daily routines (exercise, sleep hygiene), mindful techniques (breathing skills), reading and journal prompts, or possibly using therapeutic games.
Sam’s therapeutic approach is rooted in combination of Person Centered/Trauma Informed practice. Sam and her clients work together to create an environment of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, allowing clients to explore their concerns and work towards their goals in a way that also allows them to feel physically and psychologically safe. This further creates a space of trust, transparency, and collaboration where a client’s strengths are recognized, built on, and validated to create resilience and empowerment.
Sam is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive caseload and providing a safe space for all those who come in for treatment. In addition to having hours in person available, she is also available for remote sessions.
Sam is being supervised by Dr. Brendley.
