.Dr. Harb is a licensed clinical psychologist working with individuals with a range of life difficulties. Both compassionate and challenging, her approach is grounded in principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy as well as a deep understanding of the evidence base for a variety of therapies which she integrates into her practice. Dr. Harb is experienced in treating anxiety and depression as well as helping clients thrive in the face of life stressors such as medical treatments or interpersonal difficulties. She is particularly passionate about treating clients with insomnia and sleep problems, nightmares and posttraumatic stress. In addition, Dr. Harb is experienced in psychological assessment, in particular documenting clinical symptoms of individuals for asylum evaluations.
Dr. Harb’s approach to therapy is goal-oriented and flexible, and personalized to the specific needs of her clients. She is always focused on helping her clients gain skills and understanding to successfully overcome their current and future life stresses. Her 10 years of experience with veterans with posttraumatic difficulties at the VA Medical Center gave her an appreciation of the importance of creating genuine therapeutic partnerships with her clients. supportive and challenging that allow for understanding and positive change.
Dr. Harb is also an active researcher and current visiting researcher at UiT, the Arctic University of Norway, and the Philadelphia VAMC. She has presented her clinical and research work at international conferences and published articles in a number of scientific peer-reviewed journals. Her international research with refugees has resulted in a collaboration with the Norwegian Refugee Council. Finally, Dr. Harb has taught at undergraduate and graduate levels at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Temple University and Princeton University.
